UTA hosts a X-band weather radar unit that is part of the Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of Atmosphere (CASA) network in Dallas-Fort Worth Metro. A collaborative effort among universities, National Weather Service, and regional entities, the network has provided timely, high-resolution observations of storm systems that impacted the region. Today, CASA radars play an integral role in the region’s response to weather hazards.
